This sunday will be doing the OCBC cycling with the Kuras group where KH, Lee2, L3 and Susie will be doing their 1st cycling race at KLCC

will be there to guide them for the 24km ride

WIll start at 8:30am

Gng Datuk hike, Rembau is on, heard need to pay for guides anyway will check it out and post the details

Total abt 30 pax will be going for this hike and the last time i went was in 2011.

Happy Day!!!

Pls be informed that our 2nd hike will be scheduled on Saturday, 12nd Jan 2013 in Gunung Datuk, Rembau/Gadong.

Do inform me if you are interested to join us.

Duration of Hike : 4-5 hours

Difficulty Level : 6 out of 10 (10 being most difficult)

Meeting Point :

1) Senawang Toll exit at 7.15am

(Clarification: The Senawang Toll is about 5km next to the Seremban Exit.

After you have exited the Senawang toll, park your car at the left side of the road and wait for the rest. There is a toilet .)

2) The parking area in Gunung Datuk at 8.15am.

Transport Arrangement :

Own transportation from KL/Klang to Gunung Datuk


Our Schedule :

7:15 a.m. - Meet at Senawang Toll Exit

(travelling time from Kuala Lumpur is about 1 hr 10 minutes)
7:30 a.m. - Proceed to Gunung Datuk in a convoy

8:15 a.m - Registration & Briefing
8:30 a.m. - Start ascend Gunung Datuk (one way is slightly more than 2 hours)

10:00 - 10:30am - Summit

11:00 a.m – Descend to the car park (Cut-off time for descent)

12:30 – 1:00pm – Reach starting point & wash up
2:00 p.m. – Lunch at Seng Kee Happy Restaurant, Chembong.
(From Rembau town to Chembong, returning journey)

Thing to bring :

1) Bring drinking water (about 1- 2L) and light foods, rain coat, energy bars, medical plasters for the trekking trip.

2) Wear suitable trekking shoes

3) Food / Fruits - breakfast
4) Raincoat & Whistle (Compulsory)

5) Optional - Garden gloves, Trekking stick, Camera

6) Extra clothes for changing after the climb

(You can take bath at the public toilet located at the base car park)
7) Insect repellents - optional
8) Personal Belonging like Wallet, HP to be wrap in plastic bag in case rain.

Note :

1) Please have your own breakfast before trekking or take your own breakfast
2) Please be punctual (strive to come 10 minutes before time)

3) If anyone of you find yourselves getting into difficulties, turnaround time is at 11:00am.

Meaning, no matter where you are at 11:00am, you MUST turn back and begin your descend to the starting point.

4) Entrance fee (or permit) of RM 5 is imposed by Local Authority to climb Gunung Datuk.

5) I heard from Tony that there is a new rule at Gunung Datuk. Every 10 hikers require a mountain guide.

There will be mountain guide fees (estimated at about RM60 for 10 people).

We are not exactly sure how much the mountain guide fees will be but we will finalize it on that day itself.
