There was once a girl who wanted to run
Not for glory, trophy but for fun;
Speedwork, fartlek, what is that?!
As if she would want to break a sweat.

Then came the day of the relay run
Away she went after firing of the gun;
Oh how she tried not to be too slow
Working hard amongst the human flow;

"Here's the sash, quick! Make a dash

Now is not the time to crash;
Yes! here comes the finish line
Let's hope everything will turn out fine."

Podium appearance, who would have thought
Medal, trophy was what she got;
Remember the girl who ran for fun?
What a day she had under the sun.
